Crowd Convergence partnered with the Sydney Swans, Sydney’s premier Australian Football League team, to entertain and engage their growing fan base at home matches. Swans fans can now enjoy their photos and Tweets on the stadium big screens and vote in live polls to support their favourite players.
The Swans engaged Crowd Convergence with an aim to capture and promote the voices of their passionate fans in-stadia, and expand match day social participation.
Initial interaction was so popular that we quickly evolved the unique in-stadia fan experience. The new goal: give Swans fans an exclusive live social experience at each match.
Working closely with Sydney Swans fan and production staff we designed a match day experience that maximises potential fan engagement while minimising distraction.
A fully branded Photo Wall displays live photos pre and post game on the big screen. At half-time our social polls let fans vote for their man of the match using the hashtag #swanspoll. During the game live tweets are shown over vision using our Strap Widget.
All Widgets are expertly configured and monitored onsite by Crowd Convergence hardware and staff. The whole social experience has been seamless for the Swans and their technical partners.
The response to #goswans campaigns has been incredible. In-stadia social participation increased by over 50% after just two games. Hundreds of photos and Tweets are displayed live on stadium big screens at every match and fan feedback is overwhelmingly positive.
Sydney Swans have successfully on-sold the in-stadia social campaign to key sponsors resulting in a cash positive rollout and ensuring future fan engagement.
