For the first time at Hunter Stadium, fans were able to join the conversation and see their tweets and selfies projected live and instantaneously on the big screen.
The Newcastle Knights were seeking a social platform to engage, entertain and enhance the match day experience for their loyal supporters.
Crowd Convergence designed a match day experience that maximised potential fan engagement without detracting from the game.
Messages of support and fan photographs were displayed on screen pre game, at halftime and postgame whilst live tweets rolled during the game over live game vision using the Crowd Convergence Strap Widget. Filtering and moderation were applied to ensure the content was positive and appropriate for a family demographic. All widgets were expertly configured and monitored onsite by Crowd Convergence staff and hardware.
Over 20,000 vocal supporters attended the Father’s Day clash against the St George Illawarra Dragons. The fans embraced #GoKnights and used it freely in their posts resulting in hundreds of photos and tweets being displayed live on the stadium big screen. The Newcastle Knights will be back bigger and better in 2015.
