Crowd Convergence took a front seat for banking giant Westpac’s national roadshow, providing a suite of custom audience feedback tools for seven staff-attended conference events across five capital cities.
Live interactive widgets supporting two-way conversation
The brief from Westpac was for content to be interactive, and to offer staff the ability to steer the direction of conversation. There were seven screens requiring custom set up – with a large central screen boldly displaying key information, and three adjacent portrait-oriented screens flanking each side.
Yammer and SMS options were integrated by Crowd Convergence so all staff could submit content via their preferred method. Staff posted images to Yammer which were moderated and displayed on a custom photo wall covering six screens set adjacent to the central screen. Photos were displayed through pre-event and at walk-out to create a personal connection with each local audience.

To open the conference and introduce staff to the interactive nature of sessions, the audience were invited to respond to the question, “How are you feeling today?” Responses were moderated and populated to an on-screen Word Cloud display in real-time sparking conversation and engagement..
Westpac Ex-Co drove a Q&A feedback session whereby staff were invited to submit questions or comments through Yammer and SMS. Filters acted on content before progressing the best questions to a moderation queue for perfectly timed display on screen. A modified Crowd Convergence ‘Bold’ display was used during this session as it features large text, simple animation and a striking design.
Support and hardware for secure, safe platform operation
A Crowd Convergence technician was on-site for hardware setup and moderation, ensuring all content published to screen was appropriate, timely and brand-friendly. A Westpac representative worked closely with our technician to steer content decisions. Other members of the Westpac organising committee could also view content from their handheld devices via the Crowd Convergence platform, with each member assigned unique viewing and moderation permissions.

Over 300 posts were submitted throughout the roadshow and this marked the first time Westpac was able to successfully integrate with their internal Yammer network. Delegate feedback was overwhelming positive proving that increased communication is the path to successful engagement.
