Crowd Convergence was engaged to build a bespoke Samsung selfies app for the Samsung Galaxy Series 6 devices as part of a jointly hosted celebration of New York Fashion Week with Vogue Australia. The Samsung selfies app enticed guests to get tactile with the devices, before going pout-to-pout on the mosaic Crowd Convergence Social Wall.
- Allow guests to ‘experience’ the Samsung Galaxy device
- Position the Samsung Galaxy as the first choice device for the fashion-conscious
Samsung and Vogue Australia joined forces in the name of New York Fashion Week. And with so many beautiful people assembling in one room, it would have been an opportunity missed not to create an app that made selfie-taking and sharing as effortless as Miranda Kerr sashays down a runway.
So that’s exactly what we did. Crowd Convergence built a bespoke app which ran natively on Samsung devices, and allowed fashion-minded guests to try the new Samsung Galaxy on for size. Guests were invited to capture their image on the Samsung Galaxy device, enter their Instagram username and add a message (darling!)
Content was posted to #voguesamsunglive where images passed through Crowd Convergence filtering criteria, ready for manual moderation by our on-site team. The Crowd Convergence Social Wall displayed images via a large screen in-venue, with several hundred posts revealing dynamically across the course of the evening. Proving they definitely weren’t camera shy, the well-heeled guests wound up taking selfies of their…selfie…being displayed on the big screen.
Discerning fashionista’s can feel well confident that the sleek, sophisticated Samsung Galaxy takes one hell of a pic…now if only it could make me look more like Miranda Kerr.
